Missionary Profile:

Carlwin is from San Marcelino, Zambales, while Shairene is a native of the Tagbanua tribe from Aborlan, Palawan. They have been serving as missionaries with NTMPI since 2021 and 2022, respectively. They are currently ministering among the Ata Manobo people group in Davao del Norte, Mindanao.

Carlwin is actively involved in teaching God’s Word and plays a key role in curriculum development, including the draft translation of Scripture for curriculum development in the Ata Manobo context. He is also engaged in facility development to support the growing needs of the ministry.

Shairene faithfully leads the daycare ministry, teaching and nurturing Ata Manobo children through early childhood education. The daycare center has been officially recognized by the Municipal DSWD and is now in its second year of partnership with the local government, an encouraging step in strengthening community trust and impact.

Carlwin also participates in People Group Assessment surveys and visitations to nearby communities, helping assess opportunities for future outreach and church planting efforts.

Their team is currently in Phase 3 of BOFF (Building on Firm Foundations) teaching among the Ata Manobo. At the same time, they are developing Phase 4 lessons in preparation for the next stage of teaching, along with creating special lessons aimed at discipling and equipping future leaders and Bible teachers within the community.

Carlwin and Shairene have a two-year old son, Carlwin King Jr.
